The House Movies series is one of the oddest horror franchises in history. While they all feature the same actor and have similar backstories, the films aren’t all alike. They are largely standalone stories, but there is a distinct hierarchy of quality. The first movie is by far the best of the series, and the sequels aren’t nearly as good. Despite the lack of major continuity, the House movies remain entertaining, if slightly uneven.

The Japanese film House is also a standout, featuring a mostly amateur cast and surreal visuals. It follows seven high school girls on a vacation to their aunt’s home, only to discover that they are being systematically killed off one by one. The surreal visuals and twists on familiar horror motifs have earned the film cult-classic status. You won’t want to miss it! This film is a great choice for all ages.

There are many other excellent movies in the House series. You can start with the classic The Conjuring. This film is a masterful work of psychological horror. Starring George C. Scott, this film has received critical acclaim and is Universal’s highest-grossing film. The plot follows a grieving family as they try to cope with the loss of a loved one. Meanwhile, a young woman named Annie Graham, a paranormal investigator, learns to perform seances. As a result, she opens a door to a horrifying haunting. The psychological horror in this film is done beautifully, and the plot line is familiar and gripping.

The Other One is an equally creepy film based on the classic novel by Henry James. The supernatural elements of this film make it a classic in the House movies genre. It was a worldwide sensation in 1992 and features the spooky spirit of a house. The haunted house of Hill House inspired a series of movies, including The Amityville Horror and The Haunting of Hillhouse. It’s the quintessential B-movie.
